About: Doing stand up is hard for a lot of reasons. You're usually performing for no crowd in a smoky back room, hoping that some stranger who paid a babysitter more than you're getting payed, is connecting enough with your goofy Prom story, that they'll let a laugh slip. And then you leave, with a smile on your face regardless of the outcome, get in your car, and head to the next show as "Goodnight" texts start streaming in from your friends and family.
More often than not, you're over-worked and under-compensated, and you are the only one managing your jokes, sets, shows, calendar, reminders, notes, and timeline. For that reason, every single comedian and performer I know relies on a variety of apps that never seem to cooperate with each other, either have too many or too few features, and all live in disparate locations on their device.
And after my notes and calendar app blanked out on me and ruined a few nights of shows for me I decided to see if I could design my way out of that situation. That night I got home, frustrated, and in a coffee stupor, and sketched out the basic framework for an app that consolidated all of the essentials a performer needs. It has the basics, and just the basics in one place, that are all super clean, functional, and focused on the user. The colors are used to reiterate the idea that gives you the basics, and used in many cases to inform the hierarchy. The font is strong, confident, and most importantly, easy to read in a dark room. This app gives a performer everything they'll need to track their sets, their thoughts, shows, and it'll remind them with important tasks and motivational ones as well.
Just write jokes, and show up- the Stand-App will take care of the rest
